Border Collies Breeders - Border Collies are not as old as herding itself. The publications of the 19th century mention the breeds that resemble the current Border Collie in appearance. However, some say Dr. Caius mentioned the breed in his publications in 1570. The true Border Collie's history was influenced greatly by several famous dogs. The origin of the breed believed to lie in them. All these Border Collies were highly productive stud dogs and their temperament, their unique capacity to work and their outstanding performance in trials were inherited and developed in current Border Collies.
Old Hemp and Old Kep are referred to as the first true predecessors of the Border Collie breed. Old Hemp was born in 1893 and is known to have given the exterior model to the breed. It was an excellent trial dog that lost not a single trial. Old Kep was born in 1901 and is believed to have contributed to the temperament features of Border Collies. Old Kep had a kind nature.
